Promote the rights and well-being of immigrants and refugees in New York and around the nation!
Join the New York State Immigrant Action Fund, a new civic and social justice organization. We:
- advocate for laws and policies that empower immigrants and their communities
- communicate with elected officials and the public in support of fair and humane immigration reforms and other immigrant issues at the national, state, and local levels, and
- speak out against policies that attack immigrant rights and speak out against immigrant-focused hate speech, hate crimes and scapegoating.
The United States is a nation of immigrants. The Action Fund is a powerful new voice dedicated to promoting the rights and well-being of immigrants and refugees. We proudly support and publicize the contributions of elected officials who respond to immigrants’ needs. At the same time, we hold New York politicians accountable for actions they take that harm immigrant communities.
We invite you to join us in building a broad base of members across New York State. Membership is open to all individuals who support our goals. Members receive updates on immigrant issues, action alerts on campaigns and events, and invitations to the Action Fund’s annual gathering and other activities. We also seek to mobilize the public at large to take action on immigration issues.
The New York State Immigrant Action Fund – launched by friends and supporters of the New York Immigration Coalition – is an organization that will, among other roles, inform the public of the policies and positions of elected and appointed government officials. These activities complement those of the New York Immigration Coalition.
The New York State Immigrant Action Fund has filed for official status as a 501 (c) 4 non-profit organization, though that status has not yet been finalized.
