The 10th Congressional District is centered in Brooklyn and includes Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn Heights, downtown Brooklyn, Clinton Hill, Canarsie, Starrett City, Remsen Village, Flatlands, and East New York. The district has the highest concentration of African Americans of any in the state. Many of of these constituents originally came from the Caribbean. Approximately one-in-six people living in the district is Latino.
Ed Towns has consistently supported immigrant rights issues in Washington. He voted for the DREAM Act in 2010 and supported comprehensive immigration reform.
